Description

These specialty horns have been developed to handle noxious or hazardous samples while isolating them from incidental contact or to contain reactants for metric evaluation. The Sealed Atmosphere Treatment Chamber is designed for batch treatment of infectious materials while in an isolated environment. The chamber design allows the sample to be processed in an inert environment and chilled, if necessary, through the use of an ice bath. The solid stainless steel chamber screws onto the horn with a neoprene O-ring seal. If necessary, the chamber is designed to be safely autoclaved. Hose connections above the liquid level permit purging with an inert gas and available while filling or emptying the contents without breaking the atmospheric seal. Standard chambers will permit treatment of 3 to 10 mL, 6 to 15 mL, or 25 to 50 mL volumes and can be obtained with or without a built-in cooling chamber, which inhibits heat buildup during extended operation. Requires one open ended wrench (sold separately, Cat. No. 382-16656) and one spanner wrench (sold separately, Cat. No. 382-16659) for removal from converter tip) for 250 and 450 Sonifiers.
