Description

Higher particulate loading capacity with extended life of filter. Manufactured from 100% borosilicate glass microfibers, the filter is binder-free and unique in its construction: a coarse layer on top of, and meshed with, a fine layer. The Multigrade traps larger particles in the pores or on the surface of the coarse layer while the medium-sized particles are caught in the interface meshing. The smaller particles are netted in the interstices of the fine layer. When used as a prefilter it nearly doubles the volume of sample filtered compared to a single density prefilter. Compared to an unprotected membrane, the volume of sample filtered is three to seven times greater. Notes to specifications: Thickness is measured at 53 kPa. Immersed water absorption of a 7 x 1 cm strip. Linear wicking time to rise 7.5 cm. Radial wicking time to reach 7.5 cm.
