Direct-reading instrument for precision penetration measurements of bituminous materials, cement, petrolatum and waxes, as well as food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. Unit has 5 in. diameter indicator dial, graduated in 400 divisions of 0.1 mm, corresponding to 40 mm penetration. Zero preset to eliminate errors. Includes 47.5 g plunger with 3.2 mm hole, and two loading weights (50 g and 100 g). Overall dimensions: 10.5 x 13 x 22 in. (266.7 x 330.2 x 558.8 mm). The Universal Penetrometer supports the following standards: ASTM D5, ASTM D217, ASTM D1168, ASTM D1321, ASTM D1403, ASTM D1831, ASTM D5329, AASHTO T49, AASHTO T187.
